How to Do Dumbbell Step Up
A unilateral leg exercise where you step onto a bench while holding dumbbells, building lower body strength, balance, and stability.
Instructions:
Stand in front of a bench holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides.
Place your right foot fully on the bench, pressing through the heel.
Drive your body upward until your right leg is fully extended and you are standing on the bench.
Lower yourself with control back to the floor.
Complete all reps on one side, then switch legs.
Common mistakes:
Pushing off excessively with the back leg instead of the working leg.
Letting the knee cave inward.
Using momentum instead of controlled movement.
